VICTIM emerged from the burgeoning Northern Ireland Punk scene in the late Seventies. Their first single release was Strange Thing By Night on Belfast's Good Vibrations label, followed by Why Are Fire Engines Red? in 1979 on TJM Records and The Teen Age on Illuminated Records in 1980 after the band had re-located to Manchester. Victim supported The Damned on a huge UK tour in 1979 and later went through a series on line-up changes. In 1982 Victim gigged extensively in the UK but at the end of the year drummer Mike Joyce left to join The Smiths. The band continued for a few more years with new drummer Kev Williams, formerly with Mick Hucknall’s Frantic Elevators.
