Artist: Screamers
Album: Pat Garrett Demos 7-7-77
Year: 2009
Label: (no label)
Source: 24/96 vinyl rip done by yours truly. 1st true lossless version of this session on the net! If anyone wants me to post a 16/44.1 version just ask in the comments below
Info: This one-sided LP contains the 1st Screamers studio session from 1977 in amazing quality. These were recorded on a TEAC 2340 4-track and produced by Pat Garrett. A couple of these songs have appeared in way lesser quality on other Screamers boots, but this LP represents the first time the complete 5-song session has been released in the correct order. I'm guessing this is due to someone finding the original master tape since the increase in quality is substantial. I also posted the complete 1978 Geza X live to 4-track session which contains 14 songs and is the only other Screamers boot worth it's weight in my opinion.
The Screamers have still never officially released any music aside from a 1978 VHS tape of a live show. They were arguably the most popular punk band in LA in the late 70's, but broke up before even releasing a single, let alone an album. Let by Tomata du Plenty's screaming vocals and a keyboard rhythm section instead of a guitar, they truly had a unique and great sound.
Track List:
A1 Punish Or Be Damned
A2 Mater Dolores
A3 Peer Pressure
A4 Magazine Love
A5 Anything
Enjoy!!
