Winners of the 1982 televised "Battle Of The Bands” (thanks to the casting vote of Slade front man Noddy Holder), The Crack went onto release three singles for RCA Records but it was their 1989 debut LP "In Search Of The Crack” for the legendary Link Records that really established them in the hearts and minds of the Punk / Oi! scene. Frontman Steve Jones had one of the most powerful voices, from the same school as the mighty Nod it has to be said, and a great ear for a tune and a catchy chorus. "My World”, "Don’t Just Sit There”, "I Caught You Out”, "Don’t You Ever Let Me Down” – every one of them an anthem. Another band who really should and could have been massive.
