Hateful is an Oldschool Punk Rock band from Clydebank, Glasgow, UK. Hateful were formed in January 2002 in Clydebank, just outside Glasgow in Scotland. The line-up consists of Alex (guitar/vocals), Kev (drummer/back vocals) and Monty (bass/back vocals). The band take their influences from earlier Punk and Oi! bands like The Clash, The Business, Cock Sparrer, The Ruts, SLF, Rancid, Blitz….etc (get the picture?). The band have been gigging away since July 2002 confronting the audience with hard hittng in your face catchy as fuck Punk Rock and leaving them shouting for more, so watch out because Hateful are coming! Hateful may be founded in 2002, but that doesn’t mean that their music can’t sound like years back. Hateful proves this with their debut “Reasons To Be Hateful”, on which we find old Punk Rock with a few ska and oi influences now and then. Think of bands like The Clash, Rancid, Cock Sparrer and The Business and you’ll know what these guys from Scotland are all about. They keep the spirit of the late seventies and early eighties alive, so a whole generation can keep on enjoying their favourite style of music. Personal shit and everyday life sums up their lyrical content, so nothing new or special on that part. Thanks to The Down And Outs, Hard Skin and this Scottish threesome, the true spirit of vintage UK Punk lives on. In 2009 released the third album from this powerful and melodic Punk band with roots in Scotland and influences ranging from The Clash to Cock Sparrer. After three albums, Hateful still remains the best kept secret of UK (Street) Punk. Amazing songwriting, hit after hit! Honest and real quality stuff. Sounds new? No. Sounds good? Yeah!
